“Kia helped me through one of the hardest periods of my life—becoming a new mom for the first time and then transitioning into motherhood again when I had my second child. Breastfeeding was completely foreign to me, and she patiently taught me how to properly latch my baby, as well as how to measure and store breast milk correctly.

When I became a second-time mom, I quickly realized that no two babies are the same. My youngest was very different from my oldest as a newborn, and because Kia is a mother of three, she had the experience and patience to guide me through figuring out what worked best for me and my youngest daughter. She never rushed me and always made sure I felt supported.

Kia also took care of my newborns so I could shower and get much-needed rest—something that made a huge difference during postpartum. She handled my babies with so much care, feeding them and ensuring they were safe while I wasn’t around. She taught me how important those breaks are and reassured me that asking for help is not something to feel guilty about.

There were many moments when I felt defeated, especially when my babies experienced stomach issues, but Kia always knew what to do and coached me through those situations, often providing immediate relief for my children. I felt completely comfortable sharing everything I was going through with her, and she never once made me feel like a nuisance. She would drop everything to help when I needed her.

She also paid close attention to my babies’ skin, noticing different rashes and changes. She calmed me during moments of worry by explaining that many skin changes are normal for newborns, while also being able to recognize when something was more than just typical newborn skin. She taught me the importance of breast milk not only for feeding, but also how beneficial it can be for skin care.

Kia showed me how to swaddle properly and demonstrated different positions that helped my newborn sleep better. While her knowledge of postpartum care and newborns was invaluable, it was also the small things that meant the most to me—simple swaddles, gentle rubs, and learning the little preferences that helped my babies feel comforted and calm.”-Elissa
